Master's Study

The Master's study extends the Bachelor's study. It prepares for a career in research and development in the field of bioinformatics.
The regular length of study is four semesters.
Application requirements are the "Abitur" or an equivalent degree and the Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, either from the Saarland University or an equivalent degree (see exam regulations, §18). Applications for a study of bioinformatics in Saarbrücken have to be directed to Abteilung für studentische Angelegenheiten of the university (see Application). The deadline for each summer semester ends November 15 and for each winter semester May 15.

The following exemplary plan of study contains further information on the teaching courses as well as recommendations for a well-planned study course. In addition to the weekly teaching hours ("SWS"), the points to be gained according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) are listed. They allow a change of university within Germany and abroad.
